A WORLD OF OBLIGATIONS,
A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES...

All nation states, regional organisations and corporate institutions, large and small, face immense challenges in a globalised world because of transnational crime; in particular, public and private corruption, terrorism, and organised crime.

Sambei Bridger & Polaine

A series of international conventions and protocols, such as UNCAC, the UN's counter terrorism instruments, a variety of international and regional human rights instruments, and a host of others designed to counter cross-border offending have greatly increased the work load of public prosecutors, law enforcement and private sector lawyers throughout the world.

It is vital to the global standing of states that they are seen to be fulfilling their obligations, and working to prevent crime and prosecute those who perpetrate it in the framework of both national and international law.

The same is true in the corporate sector; domestic law in most jurisdictions demands that organisations of all sizes observe strict international standards.

Capacity is lacking, not just in developing nations or smaller, less well funded institutions and corporate bodies, but also in larger, more developed jurisdictions and in multinational companies: the need for expertise and experience is pressing, and Sambei Bridger & Polaine (SBP) - or, as it then was, Amicus - was established at the beginning of 2008 to help meet it.
